Personal Development at DeNA

DeNA actively supports those who are ambitious enough to strive to improve themselves. We don't focus only on basic skills, but also on those that are necessary to propel a business forward.

What opportunities do you have to advance your career?

1. DIG (DeNA Innovation Group)

In 2006, we started this forum where employees can freely propose new business ideas because we believe that the next successful service will come from you.

2. Interdepartmental Transfers

We encourage you to face new challenges, including trying your hand at a new line of work. Twice a year, as long as you meet the evaluation period's performance requirements, you can apply to move to a different department. We don't try to cultivate a "stereotypical DeNA employee" - we want you to have a unique experience.

How do your fellow employees support your development?

1. Peer Mentoring

When you enter the company, you're assigned a similarly aged mentor. He/She will help you adjust to the working environment at DeNA, as well as be a fountain of information regarding DeNA's various departments. Your mentor will work wonders curing you of new-job jitters by talking of his/her own experiences and introducing you to other employees over lunch.

How we bring together management and employees to encourage open communication?

1. All Company Management Meeting

Anyone can participate in this management meeting. As such, it is an excellent opportunity to learn about the statuses of other departments and to reaffirm your own role and importance. Even more, you can ask questions and make proposals to the management regarding how things are run. It is an unparalleled opportunity for those who actively want to participate in the company's management.

How do we encourage innovation and learning?

1. DeNA Innovation Laboratory

After working for DeNA as an engineer for two years, you can partake in an intensive one month laboratory devoting yourself to researching new technologies. Far removed from your regular work, you get to work with the latest technologies as you delve into your field of expertise. By doing so, you will contribute to the accumulation of new technologies and knowledge coming from DeNA's lab.

2. International Academic Conferences

Predominantly engineers are chosen to attend international conferences, seminars and forums. While from a broad perspective, engineers sent to conferences are there to accumulate knowledge to improve DeNA's own technology, as it is an excellent opportunity for personal development as well, we welcome applications from ambitious young employees who are motivated to grow both professionally and personally.
