TOKYO, JAPAN - May 9, 2012- DeNA Co., Ltd. (2432.T), a leading global Internet company, has announced today its financial results for the quarter and the fiscal year ended March 31, 2012. The company reported that its quarterly net sales performance was $529 million*, 32 percent higher than same quarter last year, and operating income rose to $234 million, 19 percent higher than the same period of the previous year. DeNA concluded a successful fiscal year, with record-high $1.82 billion in sales and $794 million in operating income, up 29 and 13 percent respectively.

"DeNA has had an eventful and fruitful quarter and year," Isao Moriyasu, CEO of DeNA, said. "For our social games business, we invested heavily in foundation, talent, technology, partnerships and the market knowledge necessary to achieve our mission of building the world's leading social gaming platform. Steady growth in the last quarter confirms the value of these strategic investments and our core capabilities. Now, with Mobage live across the world, we will continue to add the best-in-breed content to our portfolio, fine-tune our platform and cement our global leadership."

During the quarter, DeNA saw continued growth in consumption of Mobage's cross-game currency Moba-coin, topping $640 million. During the period, DeNA launched Daum Mobage in South Korea, expanding its cross-border footprint. The company strengthened its catalog of titles based on popular franchises and engaged key industry players in China, securing a strong position for further worldwide success. DeNA also formed an alliance with Walt Disney Japan and already began launching titles.

In the fiscal year ended March 31, 2012, DeNA took Mobage truly worldwide. The company rolled out Mobage networks in China and the West in July 2011 and launched Daum Mobage in February 2012 in South Korea. The company met its goals of building a global game engine and publishing a diverse game catalog, with chart-topping hits.

DeNA is focused on extending its proficiency in building, serving and monetizing games across markets worldwide. The company's sophisticated, event-driven game mechanics have proven to translate into success in the West; Japanese-developed, and localized flagship title Rage of Bahamut has been holding the number one spot on Google Play's top-grossing charts in the U.S. and continuing to rank high in the charts in other Western markets. DeNA will continue to develop a slate of key titles and inject the Mobage knowledge into first-party, original, licensed, co-developed and third-party games to mature the mobile social platform in the fiscal year ahead.
