CATEGORY :Corporate
DATE :2024.12.03

TOKYO, JAPAN – November 13, 2024 – DeNA Co., Ltd. and the Yokohama DeNA BayStars Baseball Club, Inc. would like to announce the following regarding facilities to be directly operated by the DeNA Group within the expansive BASEGATE YOKOHAMA KANNAI complex, currently under construction in front of JR Kannai Station as part of the City of Yokohama old city hall district utilization project.*

Since the DeNA Group entered professional baseball in 2011, we have engaged in machizukuri initiatives centered on sports. This began with the Community Ballpark Concept, which aimed to enable people who were unfamiliar with baseball to easily come and enjoy Yokohama Stadium and Yokohama Park, and now we are working on efforts such as the energizing of the Kannai and Kangai areas following the move of the City of Yokohama city hall, as well as events to encourage people to come to the stadium and park even on days without professional baseball games, for example BALLPARK FANTASIA

In BASEGATE YOKOHAMA KANNAI, scheduled for grand opening in spring 2026, the DeNA Group will directly operate two facilities, leveraging the insight, knowhow, and technology we have built up throughout the DeNA Group not only in our Sports Business but throughout our entertainment businesses. We aim for BASEGATE YOKOHAMA KANNAI, as well as our direct operations Wonderia and THE LIVE, to inspire visitors to come to the area.
Please see below for more information about our directly-operated facilities.

■ Wonderia: Edutainment** Facility to Immersively Experience Stunning Scenery and Unknown Creatures

Facility Name & Logo Statement
As this facility will use projection mapping and other technologies to create an immersive space, we decided to name this imaginary beautiful island “Wonderia.” Wonderia incorporates the word “wonder” to signify the surprise and curiosity when finding something beautiful or new, while “-ria” is an ending signifying a country or region. In the facility logo there are many colors harmonizing with nature, conveying a sense of the diversity of life on the beautiful island of Wonderia.

Providing Surprise & Insight Through a Fusion of Play and Technology in Entertainment
Visitors will be able to move through six zones on the island of Wonderia and see stunning scenery as well as meet unknown creatures. There are also plans to incorporate knowhow from the DeNA Game Business in the form of gamification, such as by making it possible to access information about the environment and creatures by viewing the space through a smartphone camera. This novel entertainment experience will enable visitors to enjoy an immersive space, to be surprised, moved, and come away with new insight.
