TOKYO, JAPAN – December 9, 2024 – DeNA Co., Ltd. today announced the conclusion of a capital & business partnership agreement with 5X Entertainment Company Limited.
In this agreement, DeNA will invest in Tadpole Entertainment Company Limited, a subsidiary of 5X. Service for the game titles currently being handled by the DeNA China office will continue to be provided by Tadpole and a company in which Qianyun Gu holds shares, with facilitation from DeNA.
The DeNA China office has engaged in development and publishing for smartphone games primarily leveraging Japanese manga and anime IP for the global market for many years. The 5X Group also engages in the publishing business for the global market leveraging Japanese manga and anime IP, with such hits in recent years as Kuroko’s Basketball Street Rivals in many countries in Asia.
Going forward, the companies will engage in game development and operations in China, and pursue global expansion.
