Through this alliance, DeSC Healthcare and MDV will explore ways to utilize both companies’ strengths in the following areas.
 (1) Collaboration in data utilization
 (2) Collaboration in direct-to-consumer health promotion services

(1) Collaboration in data utilization
1. Creating the largest database in Japan
By combining the databases of both companies, the combined database is expected to cover over 15 million insured people and the hospital data of 40 million patients. Going forward, the companies plan to accelerate collaboration with partner companies who share our vision and provide a database that is the largest in Japan both in terms of size and varieties.

2. Loading data into MDV analyzer
The MDV analyzer is a web tool that allows analysis of medical databases and is highly regarded by academia and pharmaceutical companies, etc. The companies aim to load the database described in (1) above into this tool starting this summer and provide that information. This will make it possible to analyze combined data for insured people and medical institution data covering all ages, which was previously not feasible. The companies aim to contribute to solving issues being faced in the Japanese medical field.
The companies will also work together to use our analysis and technical knowhow to further enhance the MDV analyzer service.

(2) Collaboration in direct-to-consumer health promotion services
By sharing the knowhow of our respective services, such as MDV's personal health record (PHR) service Karteco and DeSC Healthcare's kencom, both companies will cooperate to further support the health promotion of consumers and contribute to the rationalization of medical expenses.
