TOKYO, JAPAN - Feb. 20, 2012 - DeNA Co., Ltd. today launched Infinity Blade Cross, an adaptation of Epic Games, Inc.'s internationally popular Infinity Blade series of action RPGs, on DeNA's Mobage social gaming platform in Japan. The Japanese-language title, which requires a Mobage Japan account, is now available for download in the App Store.
Infinity Blade Cross is a free-to-play iOS game that delivers the series' trademark thrilling combat and high-end 3D graphics. Players take on the role of a heroic knight who must seek out and defeat a series of powerful titans across the kingdom. During the quests, players gather equipment and "spirits," which can be fused together to augment the hero's abilities, or purchase virtual items to enhance the game experience.
Infinity Blade Cross is offered in collaboration with Epic Games and its award-winning studio, ChAIR Entertainment. Japan's iNiS Corporation also contributed to the title as a development partner.
The original Infinity Blade and its recently released sequel, Infinity Blade II, are international bestsellers and remain two of the most popular games released on the App Store. Since its debut in December 2010, ChAIR's award-winning Infinity Blade series has generated more than $30 million in revenue. The series features highly sophisticated graphics and a smartphone-optimized user interface thanks to Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3.
