DeNA Reports Second Quarter Fiscal Year 2014 Financial Results

TOKYO, JAPAN - November 7, 2014 - DeNA Co., Ltd. (Tokyo: 2432), a global leader in mobile Internet services, today announced its financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2014. DeNA reported quarterly revenue of 36.0 billion yen and operating profit of 8.0 billion yen.

"Our quarterly financial results exceeded our guidance with both revenue and operating profit increasing quarter-over-quarter," said Isao Moriyasu, President and CEO of DeNA. "Our game business is gaining momentum in Japan and internationally with the launch of new native app hits. We will focus on maximizing the potential of our existing hits and also creating additional hit titles in the coming quarters. In the last quarter, we successfully launched our genetic testing service and also acquired two curation platform operators, making significant progress on our strategy to bring innovation to traditional industries. Second Quarter FY2014 Business Highlights

  • Coin consumption for DeNA's Japan game business was 36.5 billion yen, exceeding guidance due to successful live operation of browser-based games
  • International coin consumption was sequentially flat, approaching 40 million USD
  • Key titles launched during the quarter include Final Fantasy Record Keeper in Japan, Transformers: Rising in Greater China and Godus in the West
  • Digital magazine app Manga Box reached six million downloads in September
  • Acquired two curation platforms in Japan, Iemo (housing/interior design) and Mery (women's fashion) in September
  • Launched direct-to-consumer genetic testing service Mycode, in Japan, in August
